I have over 12 years experience of running my own business that uses all manner of sewing skills. From the simplest repair of a split seam to the more intricate recreating and copying a favourite but now worn out piece of clothing.

Very much of what I do has been self taught, which means finding “My Way” of doing things which is often easier than reading from instructions!

At Zerbini we offer a full and extensive range of alterations to a simple hem shortening to a complete remodel of an outfit. Making up, repairs and curtains. More recently soft Furnishings.  All waiting to be passed on to you.

We aim to offer a wide range of courses to suit your ability and confidence. You can basically choose your project and we will do our best to make it a reality for you. We suggest, if you have no, or very little basic knowledge of sewing to start small and aim high!

Choose a simple project that will enable you to learn and build your confidence at the same time. As with anything, if you try and take on too much too soon it will most likely go wrong! We don’t want that!

 If you have the basics and have not used them for a while then a refresher session is probably all you need to try something more challenging.

Step by step guidance to follow a pattern. From a simple elasticated waisted skirt for a toddler to an evening dress for you.

 Cushion covers to curtains for your home. Bring your own machine and learn how to use it.

Anything is possible. Just ask!

Beginners Dressmaking

Follow a basic pattern, Measure Correctly, Easy Tailor Taking, Seam Allowances, Putting Pattern Pieces Together, Finishing Off Raw Edges

Bring Along:

Basic Pattern, Fabric, Matching Threads, Any Other Sundries Specified

Basic Cushion Cover — Piped And Zipped

Bring Along:

Fabric, Colour Coordinating Zip, Cushion Pad To Required Size, Any Fringing Or Braid, Contrast your piping.

Use your imagination. Find a picture in a magazine and recreate it. Bring as much as you like to make in your session time.
